Title: Utilizing Volunteers

Description: The ReUse program in Georgia, FODAC (Friends of Disabled Adults and Children), is celebrating 40 years of successfully distributing home medical equipment (HME) to individuals and families who need access to safe, reliable equipment. During this one-hour informational session, Volunteer Coordinator David Carroll will lead a practical discussion on recruiting, training, organizing, and retaining a volunteer workforce that can make a meaningful impact in a community-based reuse program. Participants will learn how volunteers can support key program areas such as equipment intake, cleaning and refurbishment, warehouse operations, client service, delivery support, outreach, and special events. The session will also highlight strategies for matching volunteer skills with program needs, creating clear expectations, building a positive volunteer experience, and recognizing the important contributions volunteers make to the long-term success and sustainability of a reuse program.

Participants: This CoP is open to all AT Act Program staff and subcontractors interested in Reuse Activities.
