Subject: Empowering everyone to design — accessibility in Canva

Description: Canva is a visual communication platform with AI-powered tools, used by educators, professionals, and organizations to create everything from flyers and presentations to social posts and reports.

In this session, we’ll cover how to create accessible content in Canva, and the features in the editor that make this easier. You’ll learn practical techniques you can start using straight away, including adding alt text to images, choosing colours that meet contrast requirements, adjusting text semantics and reading order, and exporting accessible PDFs.

We’ll also cover the accessibility of the Canva product itself, including screen reader and keyboard support in the editor.

You’ll leave with a set of best practices ready to share with your own communities, plus time for questions specific to your programs’ work.

Participants: This meeting is open to all AT Act Program staff and subcontractors.
