Emerging Tech with AT Potential: SolePower

Video screenshot shows heal of SolePower boot and the words These shoes are powered by your steps. These Smart Boots are made for walking.

Our AT3 News & Tips community survey showed a strong interest in emerging technology. Here’s a work boot using new technology – a kinetic charger – that has considerable potential as assistive technology. SolePower advertises itself as wearables that charge themselves. The boots incorporate lights, GPS, and sensors (monitoring falls and fatigue). AT applications seem obvious: cool light-up shoes for kids with autism or adults with dementia who wander? Other applications? Learn more about these smart boots at Solepowertech.com.
